St. Petersburg

The State Hermitage Museum

The State Hermitage in Saint Petersburg doesn’t really require an introduction. The museum is a household name and the fact that it is far and difficult to reach, only increases the fascination for the State Hermitage. The collection is endlessly versatile and the Dutch masters are also represented. Don’t forget that Saint Petersburg, once built as Russia’s “window to the west”, has got a Dutch touch. For a long time, the Dutch Republic was the first country the Russians looked at for inspiration. This makes it extra special to closely examine the paintings in the State Hermitage museum with the fun part of art.
