Mauritshuis

The building itself is already a beautiful work of art, a fine example of Dutch classicism. The architecture alone symbolizes exactly what you will see in this museum: the most beautiful and the best which Golden Century art had to offer. The Mauritshuis is home to several famous works from the 17th century. The endearing Girl eating oysters by Jan Steen for example, or the Brothel scene by Frans van Mieris. But you will also come across Johannes Vermeer during your visit to the Mauritshuis. The world that Bas Zevenbergen evokes in the fun part of art is tangible here.
